How CallBox Works

CallBox leverages cutting-edge WebRTC technology, along with STUN servers, to establish a direct, end-to-end encrypted voice channel between browsers. Your voice data travels directly from your device to your friend's device, never passing through or being stored on any central server (including this one). This ensures your conversations are private, fast, and truly peer-to-peer.
How is my call encrypted?
                CallBox uses Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) to establish a secure connection and negotiate encryption keys, and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) to encrypt your voice stream.
Your browser takes care of all encryption automatically, using WebRTC protocols that are built into every modern browser.

                            CallBox uses any of the following STUN servers for initial connection setup:

                            Voice travels strictly browser-to-browser, not through any servers.
Fully end-to-end encrypted. Only you and your contact hear the call.
No accounts, no passwords, no personal info collected.

Note: CallBox requires networks that allow UDP connections, such as Wi-Fi or most wired connections. It will likely not work on mobile carrier data, as carriers often block the peer-to-peer connections required for browser-to-browser calling.

                    Just visit the CallBox website. There's no need to create an account or log in.
                
Insert Coin (Crypto Payment)

                    Click the INSERT COIN button to initiate a crypto payment worth 25¢. A secure payment window will open. CallBox utilizes Coinbase Commerce to process payments securely.
                
Blockchain Confirmation

                    After submitting your payment, CallBox will wait for blockchain confirmation, which usually takes under a minute.
                
Get Connected

                    Once payment is confirmed, you'll be redirected to the call interface. You get 30 minutes of peer-to-peer encrypted voice time you can use whenever you want!
                
Invite a Contact

                    Share the unique invite link or QR Code displayed on the page with your contact. This allows them to join your secure channel directly.
                
Start Talking

                    Once your contact joins using the invite, click CONNECT to begin your private conversation.
                
Mute or Disconnect Anytime

                    Use the on-screen buttons to mute your microphone or disconnect the session. A timer shows how much session time remains. You can reconnect at any time and pick up where you left off!
                
Privacy First

                    All calls are peer-to-peer, ephemeral, and encrypted. No call data is stored or logged. You're always in control.
